Minnesota Icon: Robert Weinstine

Winthrop & Weinstine attorney and co-founder Bob Weinstine was profiled by Finance & Commerce following his recognition as a Minnesota ICON. The honor celebrates leaders over 60 who have  been active in their communities and in mentoring the next generation.

Mentor-Mentee: Conjuring the Dream Job Into Reality

Advocacy & Lobbying attorney Tom Hanson was quoted by the St. Thomas Newsroom for his involvement in the law school mentor program at the University of St. Thomas. The program has been applauded by both mentors and students.

“When I was in law school out in D.C. at George Mason, I never had mentors. As much as I tried, it’s hard to find on your own. St. Thomas doing this is such a great idea. I look at it as a pay-it-forward-type of thing, and hopefully they benefit and do the same thing,” Hanson commented. His mentee, John Pauley, recently landed his dream job at Sportradar in New York, NY.

Tom Hanson Comments on Potential Pawlenty Governor’s Run

Winthrop & Weinstine attorney Tom Hanson was quoted by the Minneapolis Star Tribune in an article published in the Sunday, February 11, print issue. The article, “Tim Pawlenty offers Republicans formidable name in Minnesota governor’s race, but big vulnerabilities, too,” explored the pros and cons that Tim Pawlenty could potentially face should he chose to move forward with a “comeback bid” for Minnesota State Governor.

Tom Hanson, the former Management and Budget director under Pawlenty, “think[s] the benefit this time is, we don’t have a decade of recessions to deal with, which would give him the opportunity to be more creative,” referring to the difficult economic times that accompanied Pawlenty’s last run as Governor.
