Winthrop & Weinstine Continues Strategic Growth with Addition of New Practice Group

Interdisciplinary team with national reach joins the law firm

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 3, 2022 – Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of a seven-member interdisciplinary group of professionals in the specialty tax and incentives space, led by Regina “Gina” Staudacher.  Ms. Staudacher is joined by Bill Burdett, Lindsey O’Malley, Jessica Onstott, and Paxton Fleming.

The specialty tax and incentives practice group will complement the existing work for which Winthrop & Weinstine is lauded in the tax credit and financial incentives space. This nationally focused, multi-disciplinary team collaborates to serve clients and provide support in all aspects of financial incentives and other business services. The team has obtained more than $1 billion in direct cash benefits for clients in nearly every state, as well as numerous foreign jurisdictions.   They have secured economic and tax benefits in the form of significant cash grants, tax credits, and refunds, focusing on national and local incentives as well as opportunity zones. In addition, with backgrounds in law, tax, accounting, and engineering, this creative and pragmatic team will strengthen the firm’s offerings for its clients not only with respect to financial incentives, but also in corporate and general business matters, litigation, intellectual property, state and federal regulatory law, and more.

The addition of this talented team follows the trend of strategic growth realized by the firm in the first year of leadership under Firm President Tami Diehm.  “I am thrilled to welcome Gina, Bill, Lindsey, Jessica, and Paxton to our firm.  We are excited about this strategic move and the opportunities for collaboration and growth,” said Diehm. “We have been continually impressed with the talent and creativity exhibited by Gina and her team, and their culture as a group exemplifies the qualities and characteristics that have helped make Winthrop & Weinstine such a great firm for the last 43 years. The firm continually strives to pursue opportunities to better serve its clients across the country. We are looking forward to the fantastic work we will do together to serve clients.”

“My team and I can’t wait to get started working with Winthrop, and to introduce our clients to the firm,” Gina Staudacher said. “We chose to join Winthrop because of the caliber and strength of their legal work, but also because of the collaborative and team-focused nature of the firm’s culture. I am certain that this transition will be valuable for all of our clients, who will immediately benefit from the deep and focused bench that Winthrop & Weinstine provides.”

With the addition of this new group, Winthrop is excited to expand its geographic reach to include meeting spaces in both the Chicago and Detroit markets.  These spaces will complement Winthrop’s existing spaces in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix.
