Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., Announces New Shareholders and Associates

Minneapolis, MN – January 11, 2016.  Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is pleased to formally announce the promotion to shareholder of two lawyers: Noreen Johnson Sedgeman and Doug Wolgamot. In addition, Jeffrey Drennan and Kevin McLain have been promoted to managing associates.

Noreen Johnson Sedgeman practices in the Corporate group, and has a broad base of experience in diverse business transactions. She is experienced in handling matters related to mergers & acquisitions, contract negotiation, entity formation, securities, and banking.  She works with private and public companies in a wide variety of industries.  Noreen is skilled in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, corporate governance documents, employment agreements, and purchase and sale agreements.  In addition, she regularly analyzes and advises clients on regulatory issues and a wide range of business matters (including corporate reorganizations, corporate finance, and employment law).

Doug Wolgamot practices in the Tax, Trusts & Estates practice group.  Doug advises high net worth individuals and families on estate, tax and charitable planning, trust and estate administration, probate administration, and estate and trust controversies. Prior to practicing law, Doug worked as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, giving him a unique ability to tailor his clients’ estate plans to help accomplish their financial planning objectives. He focuses on business succession planning and has extensive experience in advising closely held business owners on issues relating to business structuring, ownership succession, wealth transfer planning, and individual estate and tax planning.

Jeffrey Drennan practices in the Real Estate group, representing clients in a broad and complicated range of tax, real estate and corporate matters, including formation and structuring of entities, real estate reorganizations, financial restructurings, acquisitions and divestitures.  He is experienced in real estate finance, tax-exempt bond financing, tax increment financing, public housing funds, HOME and CDBG funds, as well as the construction and rehabilitation of historic buildings, affordable housing, mixed-use projects and associated tax credits.

Kevin McLain practices in the Real Estate group. He represents clients in complex commercial real estate transactions, including those involving federal and state tax credits and loan and grant programs, negotiating construction contracts on large commercial projects, as well as resolving construction contract disputes involving all parties in the construction process.
