Christina Rieck Loukas Named 2016 Up & Coming Attorney

MINNEAPOLIS – June 27, 2016 – Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is proud to announce that attorney Christina Rieck Loukas has been named a 2016 Up & Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer. The award highlights lawyers in their first 10 years of practice who have already distinguished themselves by their achievements.

Nominees for the Up & Coming Attorney award are judged on their professional accomplishments, leadership, service to the community and to the profession. Winners are chosen by a panel of prior award winners.

“Christina is an exceptional attorney,” noted William McNab, shareholder in the Litigation department.  “She excels in a number of areas, including her ability to identify the key facts and critical legal principles, and to marshal winning arguments combining the two. She is also a gifted legal writer, and on several occasions, her work on important briefs has resulted in summary judgments in favor of our clients. Finally, Christina is a highly effective team member. She has been very successful on both small and large teams, and she is highly regarded by both attorneys and staff at Winthrop& Weinstine.”

As an associate in the Litigation practice group at Winthrop & Weinstine, Christina handles a wide variety of disputes, including shareholder or limited partner disputes, real estate litigation, banking and securities law litigation, construction litigation, ERISA matters, and general commercial contract matters. In her practice, Christina also addresses and resolves the unique issues that can arise in connection with low-income housing tax credit developments.

Christina also volunteers her time through pro bono legal work and focuses on assisting those who have improperly been denied government benefits, and she is the Captain of Winthrop& Weinstine’s Legal Aid Associates’ Campaign. She is committed to advancing and supporting women in the legal profession, through her work with Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Minnesota Mother Attorneys Association.

The Up & Coming Attorney honorees will be recognized September 8 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis. Minnesota Lawyer will also publish a special section profiling the honorees in the September 2016 edition.
