I represent clients in a wide variety of real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, contracts for deeds, notes, mortgages and loan agreements. I also have experience handling the real estate components of larger M&A deals. I approach each transaction with an eye to practicality, and help deals progress as smoothly and efficiently as possible, while continually working to make sure that each decision is made with your business’s goals in mind.
The greatest part of my work is that I get to help achieve goals – real, tangible goals. I appreciate the feeling of making deals happen, and guiding my clients as they achieve progress in their businesses. Whether the client is acquiring, selling, leasing or pursuing any other type of transaction, it’s all done to serve a business purpose, and I keep that in mind through all that I do.
I approach my work – and my clients’ business goals – with a practical view. With any transaction, it can be easy to get bogged down in theory or minutiae, but I make sure to keep in mind the bigger picture of what the transaction is actually trying to accomplish. This allows room to negotiate and increases the chances of successfully closing a transaction. I have seen deals blow up over a small, ancillary issue – and some issues are important enough to be fought over! – but by keeping in mind the end goal, I help counsel clients through the process to get the deal done, in a way that supports your business now and in the future.
When I’m not working, I love to travel – South America and Europe are my favorite destinations. I tend to hibernate in the winter, and read or work on puzzles, but in the summer I love taking full advantage of Minnesota and spend time on the lake.
