Courtney Tawresey joins Winthrop as a shareholder in the Tax Credit Financing & Syndication group, and Alexis “Lexi” Dettbarn joins the firm as an associate in the Real Estate Development & Transactions group.
Courtney L. Tawresey represents developers, syndicators, investors, nonprofit organizations, and community development entities in complex real estate development and tax credit transactions, with significant experience helping clients navigate New Markets, Historic, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit financings, as well as Opportunity Zone investments and other tax-advantaged development structures. Courtney earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Denver University School of Law/Mendoza School of Business, her J.D., cum laude, from University of Notre Dame Law School, where she was the Development Editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy, and her B.A., cum laude, from Cornell University.
Alexis “Lexi” E. Dettbarn advises developers, owners, operators, investors and lenders on a wide variety of real estate matters, from contract drafting and review, to transaction coordination and closing, along with the legal issues that arise throughout a project’s lifecycle. Lexi earned her J.D., magna cum laude, Ethics & Compliance concentration, from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and her B.A., cum laude, from Cornell College in Iowa.
