MINNEAPOLIS — October 8, 2025. Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is pleased to announce that attorney Daniel W. Remington has joined the firm as an Associate in our Commercial Lending practice, where he brings unique experience to our robust team.

Daniel W. Remington represents lenders and other financial institutions in a wide variety of commercial lending transactions, including construction and real estate lending, commercial financing, C&I lending, and other secured transactions. He also brings significant experience representing lenders and financial institutions in workouts, receiverships, reorganizations, and other bankruptcy-related matters. Drawing upon this past experience, Dan brings a proactive approach to the practice of law, with a focus on anticipating risks and helping clients protect their interests before issues arise.

Dan earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was the National Moot Court Director and a National Moot Court Regional Champion. He earned his B.S. in Public Affairs, magna cum laude, from Indiana University.

Kyle Kroll Appointed to Minnesota Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on the Minnesota Rules of Civil Appellate Procedure

MINNEAPOLIS — October 7, 2025. Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is pleased to announce that Kyle R. Kroll, shareholder in the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation practice, has been appointed to serve as a member of the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Appellate Procedure. Kyle was appointed to the Committee by Chief Justice Natalie E. Hudson, where he will serve a three-year term.

The Committee, chaired by The Honorable Jon Schmidt, is comprised of appellate judges, practicing lawyers, law professors, and high-level officials from the judicial branch, and its role is to monitor and advise the Minnesota Supreme Court on potential amendments to the appellate rules.

Kyle represents clients across a wide range of industries in high-stakes, complex cases, with a focus on corporate disputes, intellectual property issues, regulatory matters, and appellate actions. In addition to his role on the Advisory Committee, Kyle serves as the Chair of the Appellate Practice Section Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association, is the National Council Delegate for the Minnesota Chapter to the Federal Bar Association, and he is a member of the Education Committee of the Eighth Circuit Bar Association, among other organizational involvement. He is also generous in giving of his time and talents – frequently speaking, publishing, and volunteering for organizations locally and nationally.

Tim Marx Named to 2025 “Notable Nonprofit Board Members” List by Twin Cities Business

MINNEAPOLIS – October 7, 2025. Winthrop & Weinstine is proud to announce that attorney Tim Marx has been recognized as a 2025 “Notable Nonprofit Board Members” honoree by Twin Cities Business.

After investing 40+ years in public service, which included roles as President and CEO of Catholic Charities, Commissioner of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, and as City Attorney and Deputy Mayor of St. Paul, Tim Marx returned to the practice of law. He joined Winthrop and Weinstine in 2022 as Counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Development & Transactions practice, and he continues to make a name for himself within the industry and across nonprofit leadership in the Twin Cities.

Tim has spent his career pursuing efforts to strengthen our community and better the lives of thousands among us experiencing homelessness and poverty. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the board of directors for Fairview Health Services, as a board member for the Twin Cities Housing Alliance and the National Alliance to End Homelessness, as a member of the Community Advisory Board for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, as housing advisor to the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Advisors for Young Hearts Open Minds.
