Winthrop & Weinstine’s Creditors’ Remedies, Bankruptcy & Work-Out Practice Continues Growth

MINNEAPOLIS – September 9, 2025. Attorney Atle Saterbak has joined Winthrop & Weinstine as an associate in its Creditors’ Remedies, Bankruptcy & Work-Out practice. Atle previously served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Kesha Tanabe, United States Bankruptcy Court, where he had the opportunity to observe numerous bankruptcy and adversary proceedings and support Judge Tanabe with her legal research. He also gained valuable experience as the Student Director of the University of Minnesota Law School’s Bankruptcy Clinic, where he prepared bankruptcy petitions and represented pro bono clients in Chapter 7 § 341 meetings of creditors.

Atle represents debtors and creditors, secured and unsecured, including banks and other financial institutions, lenders, receivers, and businesses on all types of creditors’ rights, workouts, restructuring, and bankruptcy matters. He received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, and his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin.

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Joins Winthrop & Weinstine’s Regulatory and Litigation Practice

MINNEAPOLIS – September 8, 2025. Attorney Kimberly Svendsen has joined Winthrop & Weinstine as a shareholder in its Regulatory and Litigation practice. Kimberly brings nearly two decades of experience as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota, where she investigated and prosecuted complex cybercrime, investment fraud, healthcare fraud, securities and tax matters, as well as international and domestic terrorism and international sanctions evasion. She leverages her familiarity with government regulations, agencies, processes, and players, to advocate on behalf of clients facing regulatory investigations, civil investigative demands, compliance issues, and other disputes.

Kimberly will also expand the firm’s White Collar Defense practice. Drawing upon her deep experience representing the United States in complex white collar criminal prosecutions, Kimberly’s unique perspective, extensive trial experience, and genuine love of mentorship are a “welcome and complementary addition to Winthrop’s Regulatory team.
