Todd Urness Recognized as a 2024 Minnesota ICON by Finance & Commerce and Minnesota Lawyer

MINNEAPOLIS – October 31, 2024. Winthrop & Weinstine is proud to announce that Todd Urness, shareholder in our Tax Credit Financing & Syndication practice, has been recognized by Finance & Commerce and Minnesota Lawyer as a 2024 Honoree of the Minnesota ICON Award. The Minnesota ICON Awards celebrate local leaders over the age of 60 who have an established list of achievements and successes, and are recognized for their ability to lead and inspire others. Honorees were selected by an external panel of industry experts and Finance & Commerce leadership.

Following the federal tax reform in 1986 and acting on intuition, Todd created Winthrop’s tax credit practice with the goal of assisting in the development of affordable housing through the use of tax credit financing. Todd has shaped and grown this practice from the ground up, starting as the sole practitioner to leading 50+ attorneys in what is now the largest group within our 180+ attorney firm. Through his leadership and mentorship, Todd has been instrumental in shaping the trajectory of the firm as a whole and has positively affected the careers of countless attorneys. His contributions have tangibly impacted the local and national landscape for affordable housing, and we couldn’t be more proud to count him as part of our team.

Honorees will be profiled in an upcoming publication and will be honored at an awards event on December 12, 2024. See the full list of honorees and register for the event here.
