Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. Grows Bench with New Attorney and Paralegal

MINNEAPOLIS — September 23, 2024. Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. is pleased to announce that Austyn K. Boothe has joined the firm as an Associate in the Creditors’ Remedies, Bankruptcy & Work-Out practice, and Kimberley (“Kim”) J. Maguire has joined as a paralegal in the Real Estate Development & Finance practice.

 Austyn K. Boothe, Associate in the Creditors’ Remedies, Bankruptcy & Work-Out practice, represents financial institutions and creditors in all types of bankruptcy and work-out matters, including foreclosure proceedings and replevin litigation. She also has significant experience liquidating consumer, commercial, and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) (including 7(a) and 504 loans) and Fannie Mae (FNMA) loans, and preparing SBA litigation plans, loan modification documents, and satisfactions and releases of liens. Austyn earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

 Kimberley (“Kim”) J. Maguire, Paralegal in the Real Estate Development & Finance practice, has more than 20 years of experience in real estate law. She assists attorneys in drafting various corporate and real estate documents, reviewing due diligence, and resolving complex title and survey issues. Kim received her B.S. in Political Science from the University of South Dakota.

Thomas Boyd Awarded “Improving Access to Justice/Pro Bono Service” Excellence Award

Thomas H. Boyd, shareholder in our Litigation practice, has been named as the 2024 recipient of the Hennepin County Bar Association “Improving Access to Justice/Pro Bono Service” Excellence Award! HCBA’s Excellence Awards honor bar members for their committed service to the local legal community, legal profession, and association.

Erin Mathern Receives Outstanding Advocate Award

Erin Mathern was recently recognized as a 2023 Outstanding Advocate by the Minnesota Housing Partnership (MHP).

The 2023 legislative session was decades in the making and the Minnesota Housing Partnership (MHP) celebrated by honoring key individuals who made it happen at a social event on December 7.  For more than 30 years, MHP has worked to expand housing and community development for those most impacted by economic and racial disparities by leading collaborative work to promote systems change and grow equitable capacity.

Erin was recognized for her years of professional development and collaborative action, and as a person who “contributed to a strong and connected affordable housing system” who is always willing to say yes to being an event partner, mentoring, and supporting colleague’s goals.
