MINNEAPOLIS — June 27, 2024.  Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. is proud to have represented Project for Pride in Living (PPL) in its acquisition and redevelopment of a site located at Lake Street and Nicollet Avenue, where a former Wells Fargo branch once stood. The property, destroyed in the 2020 civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd, will now house Opportunity Crossing, a mixed-use project consisting of 110 units of affordable housing, ground floor commercial spaces, and a new Wells Fargo branch location. Winthrop is grateful to have been involved in this pivotal project and to play a role in helping to revitalize our community.

PPL is a Minneapolis-based non-profit organization focusing on the development and management of affordable housing throughout the Twin Cities area, as well as career readiness services aimed at promoting long-term, individual economic stability. PPL’s programming serves more than 8,000 people each year.

Winthrop’s legal team assisting on the Opportunity Crossing project included Erin Mathern, Katie Riihiluoma, Joanne Matzen, Catrina Mairose, Jan Lapp, and Breanne Peña.
