Health Law attorney David Aafedt has been invited to speak at the 2018 PIAA Board Governance Roundtable in Scottsdale, AZ on March 15, 2018. David is a seasoned expert on board governance in complex regulatory environments, and his session, “Roles and Responsibilities of Board Members in a Highly Complex Industry,” will provide critical insights into the roles of board members of insurers in the MPL market.

The medical professional liability (MPL) insurance industry is highly complex and highly regulated. From federal and state lawmakers to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), numerous regulatory and policymaking bodies can have an impact on the operations of an MPL insurer.
