My Approach

My favorite aspect of my role as a trademark attorney is getting to work with clients who are excited and passionate about developing their company or brand, and helping them reach their goals. Law is a second career for me; I previously worked with several large food manufacturers, navigating nutrition communications and strategy, claims, and regulatory issues. With this experience, I deeply appreciate how important it is not only to protect my clients’ brands, but also to understand their business goals and guide how those brands are presented to the world. I love being able to bring that foundation to my current representation of clients as a trusted advisor, and helping them create and maintain their brands.

Even outside of work, I love to be busy and can’t sit still. I’m always hopping between hobbies, like gardening or running – the constants are yoga and playing video games, especially World of Warcraft.

My Experience

I work in close partnership with brand owners to develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies. I assist clients with all aspects of trademark and branding services, in the United States and abroad, including trademark selection, clearance searches, preparing and filing trademark applications, responding to office actions, maintenance, enforcement, and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). I have experience with domestic and international trademark portfolios for companies operating in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, automotive, outdoor recreation, food and beverage manufacturing, education, software, restaurants, and publishing.

Prior to joining the firm, I was a Trademark Examining Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and have an extensive understanding of the trademark application process, which I apply to help clients in crafting their applications.
