I love the thrill that challenging transactions involve. It’s important to look at a complex set of facts and identify a narrow path forward, filtering the information to help clients implement a decisive and successful approach. In the business world, time is money; I work with my clients to understand their needs, and provide the best options quickly and efficiently.
In my practice, I partner with clients to develop a variety of real estate projects, primarily involving tax credit financed affordable housing. I help clients throughout the life of the transaction, from initial due diligence through to closing and beyond. My approach centers around understanding my clients’ business goals and providing proactive solutions and advice to transform goals into tangible results.
I have always been drawn to the real estate sphere, and love that my work involves not only investment and financial analysis, but also something tangible – a building that we can watch become part of the community.
Outside of work, I enjoy good wine, neighborhood walks with my child and husband, spending time at my family cabin, and hitting the ski slopes in the winter.
I with with for-profit, non-profit and housing authority clients in real estate and tax credit financing, including transactions involving low income housing tax credits. My work spans the entire life of a real estate transaction, from organizing and forming deal-specific entities and initial due diligence, to closing and post-closing matters. I work with clients on acquisitions involving both new construction as well as rehabilitation projects. This work often involves a complex financing from multiple public and private partners involved in the transaction. I also have experience representing real estate clients on the sale side of a transaction and in the refinancing of existing projects in client portfolios.
I have experience providing counsel to a variety of for-profit and non-profit political organizations, trade associations, committees, and organizations with affiliated 527 organizations. I assist local, statewide, and national clients on a broad range of issues from formation, initial filing and day-to-day operational issues to compliance with tax and campaign finance regulations. This work includes advising clients on compliance issues such as raising and spending money, issue advocacy, independent expenditures, and political action committees at both the state and federal level. I also represent clients in compliance inquiries and investigations with the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board and the Federal Election Commission.
