My Approach

In estate planning, I like the interplay of dealing with people alongside being able to comply with all of the technical requirements placed on the planning by the tax laws. I’m a linear thinker and like puzzles, so I enjoy meeting with my clients and hearing their stories, listening to goals, and coming up with an estate plan that meets their goals and is also tax efficient. When doing planning for high net worth individuals and business executives, I work with clients to be responsive to changes in their family situations, and to navigate the tax laws to protect wealth for the next generation of their families and businesses.

Outside of work, I participate in dog agility and herding competitions with my Border Collies, and I have trained five service dogs for Helping Paws in Hopkins, MN. These dogs have gone on to assist persons with physical disabilities to achieve greater independence. People often ask me if it’s hard to train service dogs, but compared to training a Chihuahua to the level of master agility champion, training a Labrador Retriever to pick something up off the floor is not so difficult.
