Government Relations Specialist

Haley D. Cobb

There’s no better way to understand a community than directly from the people who live in it.

My Approach

With a background in microbiology, a career in advocacy and lobbying might not seem like the obvious next step. But I fell in love with the political world while volunteering in college, and never looked back. However, I find that many of the traits that drive scientific inquiry apply to my work in lobbying, too: curiosity, open-mindedness, and a desire to make the world a better place.

My favorite aspect of working in politics and advocacy is getting to meet people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and with a wide range of goals. I appreciate being able to learn directly from people and businesses the matters that are most important to them, and do what I can to ensure that is reflected in legislation.

I love forming relationships, and throughout my time working in government, whether for campaigns or working in legislators’ offices, I deeply value all of the people I have met and who shared their experiences with me.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and going out to new restaurants. Spending time in Minnesota’s great outdoors in any season is a priority—from golfing to hiking and fishing, there is always something outside to enjoy.
