My Approach
With over twenty years of experience in the government and non-profit sectors, I bring a wealth of expertise to my current role as Chief Operating Officer at Winthrop & Weinstine, a nationally recognized law firm with more than 175 attorneys specializing in all areas of business law. Prior to joining Winthrop, I most recently served as the City Coordinator/City Operations Officer for the City of Minneapolis. My career has encompassed significant roles such as Senior Vice President for Executive Recruitment at Strategic Government Resources (SGR), Interim City Manager for Chanhassen, MN, City Manager and Director of Administrative Services/CFO for Burnsville, MN, and Director of Management and Budget for Minneapolis, where I served for over seven years. Additionally, I have substantial experience at both the state and federal levels, having worked with Minnesota Management & Budget and the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.
I am deeply committed to public service and community involvement, currently serving as Treasurer of the National Civic League Board and having previously been a member of the Twin Cities Urban League board. In 2015-2016, I had the honor of serving as President of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). During my tenure, I led a task force dedicated to recruiting and engaging public finance employees, with the goal of enhancing the integration of the finance function within government to drive greater effectiveness and innovation.
I hold a Master’s in Public Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in political science and communication from Augsburg University.
