The foundation of many energy projects is the land on which the project facilities will be situated. Our clients need to have a full package of real estate rights and interests in the real estate in order for the project to work. Our Energy Real Estate team has many years of experience assisting clients in obtaining those interests and assuring that any conflicting or limiting interests are cleared, so that projects can be constructed, operated and maintained with a solid legal footing.
We have managed the real estate aspects of dozens of alternative energy developments, primarily wind and solar, in over a dozen states, and we work closely with major title companies, local recording offices and governmental authorities, as well as sophisticated survey companies, to ensure that our clients have the full array of real estate rights necessary to acquire, develop, finance, own and/or operate these projects. We routinely work with our clients to obtain fee title, leases, easements, permits and other agreements necessary to provide them with the rights necessary to develop their projects, and we work through all title, survey and related issues to make sure that the necessary real estate rights are not in conflict with the rights of others. We have an experienced team of professionals that are expert in handling the unique issues that arise in the development of these projects.
