Minnesota Rules of Evidence: Hearsay Exceptions – Declarant Unavailable and Remaining Rules in Article 8

Winthrop & Weinstine attorneys Tom Boyd, Kyle Kroll, and summer associate Maya Hermerding presented, “Minnesota Rules of Evidence: Hearsay Exceptions – Declarant Unavailable and Remaining Rules in Article 8” at Minnesota CLE on June 27, 2023.

The hearsay rules discussed in this presentation guide the admissibility of hearsay statements in particular situations, such as when the declarant is unavailable, the adverse party wishes to impeach a non-testifying declarant, or hearsay within hearsay exists. Additionally, these rules include a “catch-all” to the rule against hearsay.
