Winthrop & Weinstine attorney Lisa Ellingson has been invited to participate in a panel discussion on “Child Adoption” at the Hague Conference on Private International Law’s Asia Pacific Week 2017 (Symposium) on July 3, 2017 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The Symposium will be composed of three parts: (1) sessions on the Hague Children’s Conventions, including the 1980 Child Abduction Convention and the 1993 Intercountry Adoption Convention – the first day and the first half of the second day are organized by the Korean Ministry of Justice; (2) sessions on the 1961 Apostille Convention and the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) – the second half of the second day is organized by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and (3) sessions on International Litigation which will first focus on the 1965 Service Convention and the 1970 Evidence Convention, and then on the 2005 Choice of Court Convention and the ongoing Judgments Project – the third and the fourth days are organized by the Judicial Research and Training Institute (Judiciary).

Lisa is the Vice President of Korean Affairs for the International Korean Adoptee Associations (IKAA), and will represent IKAA at the Symposium.
