The best part of my job is helping bring more affordable housing projects to life, particularly in this period of housing shortages and chronic affordability issues. I’m grateful to play a part in helping to provide housing for those most in need, while simultaneously helping my clients achieve their underlying business goals.
Prior to attending law school, I spent a number of years working as a tax accountant. Through that experience, I became familiar with the inner workings of a variety of business, both across the industry spectrum and of all sizes and structures. I understand the ins and outs of the tax code and how that structure can affect (and drive) business strategy. I’m able to apply that knowledge every day in my current legal practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our young daughter. We love to get outside, and you’ll often find us hiking or hanging out with friends. I also enjoy golfing and try to squeeze in a round whenever I can.
I represent developers and investors on complex real estate matters, often including the use of federal and state low-income tax credits, tax-exempt bond financing, and other incentive programs. Drawing upon my past experience as an accountant (and training as a CPA), I counsel clients on all aspects of these transactions, from beginning to end.
