My practice focuses on complex real estate transactions, primarily those involving federal low-income housing tax credits, federal historic tax credits, state historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, tax-exempt bond financing, tax-increment financing, and various other federal, state, and local subsidy programs.
My Approach
Sometimes I think I succeed based on brute force – for my clients, I will do anything and everything that needs to be done to see a deal through to completion. I work closely with my clients to bring all the various financing parties together on a deal, to make sure that we each understand the others’ goals to make the deal work. Because I started my career in more general real estate, I appreciate that I am able to talk to my clients about every aspect of their work, from the dirt to the dollars. I work hard to get to know my clients and their businesses, and find it gratifying to partner with them growing the success of their businesses while also providing a social benefit.
