The greatest part of my work is that every day, I get to bring parties together and make deals. In working with clients on real estate development and transactions, despite having different motivations, everyone is working toward the same common goal: a successful closing. Getting to closing, to me, begins with communication – with the purpose of listening, rather than simply speaking. With this approach, I can better process the goal my client is working toward, and put the steps in play to achieve it from a legal perspective. Large or complex transactions can be a high stress point in a client’s life, no matter how beneficial the end result, and I aim to help smooth the process and be responsive to any questions that arise along the way.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, and trying new or new-to-me restaurants. I also like to get out on the boat, and attend as many live sporting events as I can.
I represent clients in a wide range of real estate transactions, including negotiating and drafting complex real estate purchase agreements, lease agreements and advising on title clearance issues. I also have experience advising clients with eminent domain matters, relocation actions and special assessment appeals. Prior to attending law school, I gained valuable experience working as a leasing and marketing manager for a large student housing company, which gave me a great deal of insight into my clients’ perspectives.
