I help clients navigate complex, highly regulated landscapes with a steady, practical approach. Whether representing my clients in proceedings before the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission or advising on proposed transactions, I focus on cutting through competing pressures to find a clear path forward. For me, the relationships behind the work bring meaning to the legal analysis. I enjoy working closely with clients—to understand them and their business objectives—and building strong, productive relationships with regulators and key stakeholders to help get things done. My clients can count on me to simplify the complexity, think strategically, anticipate risks, and help move their projects and regulatory filings forward with confidence.
Outside of work, I spend much of my time with my family—camping, hiking, traveling, or practicing/playing sports with them. I also am an avid fly fisher and recently took up gravel biking (mainly to keep up with my kids).
On energy infrastructure projects, whether they are wind, solar, energy storage, cogeneration, traditional generation, or transmission projects, I partner with developers, utilities, independent power producers, lenders, and investors to keep projects moving forward in a rapidly evolving energy market. And I bring this same partnership approach to all of the regulatory matters on which I am engaged, to achieve the best results for my clients. My practice focuses on permitting and regulatory compliance, as well as structuring and negotiating the agreements that underpin successful projects. I also advise on operational matters, acquisitions, and divestitures, with an emphasis on practical, business-minded solutions. Clients value my approachable style and responsiveness, and rely on me to deliver straightforward guidance that helps bring energy infrastructure projects from concept to completion and to help navigate the regulatory landscape.

Drawing upon my broad experience in energy, environmental, and natural resources law, I counsel clients on a wide range of environmental matters, including those involving contamination, land use, and compliance with state and federal regulations. I also represent clients in administrative and judicial proceedings involving environmental issues under state and federal law, including CERCLA litigation. My goal is to demystify complex environmental challenges and serve as a trusted partner, helping clients move forward with confidence while effectively managing risk.
