My Approach
I grew up on a small family-owned dairy farm and learned the value of hard work right from the start. My goal is to always be the best prepared attorney in the room, both on the facts and on the law. Clients count on me to know every single fact, in and out, and know how best to apply them to the key legal principles at issue. I’ve litigated in nearly 30 states over the last 15 years. No matter the type of case—product liability, employment, shareholder litigation or construction—I work with my clients to understand everything I can about their business and their case. Then, I fight hard to make sure they get the representation they need.
Outside of work, I am passionate about community theater and local politics.
Practice Areas
Practicing Business & Commercial Litigation
My Experience
I represent clients in business and commercial litigation covering a range of matters, including product liability, employment, shareholder disputes, breach of contract and construction litigation.
Representative Matters
- Assisted a client with enforcing a non-competition agreement that prevented former high-ranking sales manager from unlawfully completing for the client’s customers.
- Represented clients in litigation and establishing their ownership rights in a Colorado oil production company, and eventually secure a significant settlement and buy out of those rights.
- Successfully defended a client accused of breaching a long-term building lease as a result of its refusal to commence operations at the building. After several months of aggressive litigation, during which I worked to establish that the lease term had not yet commenced and that the lease was void due to misrepresentations, my client was able to secure a very favorable settlement and avoid liability under the lease.
Practicing Financial Services Litigation
Representative Matters
- Assisted bank with defense of litigation regarding alleged fraud claims and misappropriation of funds.
- Assisted client with claim regarding the unauthorized access of security box and process and procedures for addressing potential liability.
- Advised and assisted client in securing indemnity from insurance company relating to fraud claim against bank.
- Assisted client with litigation regarding discharge of employee accused of improper conduct.
