My practice is grounded in responsiveness, practical judgment, and delivering measurable value — whether negotiating complex transactions, protecting client interests in contentious matters, or helping clients seize new opportunities through strategic relationships. I focus on balancing business objectives with risk management, giving clients clear, actionable advice that allows them to make informed real-world decisions and move forward with confidence.

Away from work, I enjoy challenging myself as an avid cyclist and alpine skier, but my greatest joy comes from spending time with my two sons, our dog, and the family and friends who are most important.

My Experience

My practice focuses on the areas of commercial financing, construction and real estate financing, secured transactions and creditors’ remedies. I routinely represent national, regional and community banks, joint venture groups, hedge funds and private equity funds, operating businesses and real estate owners, franchisees and developers in complex financing transactions across a broad range of industries and markets.

Representative Matters

• Lead counsel for administrative agent and senior lender on over 35 syndicated and bi-lateral financings involving multi-family (over 5,000 units), cold-storage and industrial acquisition and build-to-suit, speculative office and data center build-to-suit projects across 12 states
• Lead counsel for financing on multiple mixed-use multi-family and retail projects in the Twin Cities with over 2,000 units including Latitude 45, EDITION—Downtown East, 222 Hennepin Apartments (Whole Foods) and Track 29 Apartments
• Lead counsel for multiple lenders financing more than 20 hotels across 10 states including the redevelopment of the iconic Foshay Tower in Minneapolis, MN, the construction of The Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis, MN and the construction of the AC Hotel by Marriott in Madison, WI
• Lead counsel for primary lender on the Downtown East mixed use, office, multifamily, retail, hotel and parking redevelopment project in Minneapolis, MN
• Lead counsel for multiple distressed debt due diligence projects involving teams of attorneys, paralegals and business professionals with combined asset/pool values in excess of $1.2 billion
