Entrepreneurship is all about finding a way, a path forward—and understanding the legal framework is crucial to getting you there successfully. From my earliest days of running my own businesses in college, I understood that navigating and clearing any legal pain points was a key component of future success. I appreciate being able to call upon my own experiences to help guide my clients, as smoothly as possible, throughout the lifecycle of their business.
At the forefront of my work is understanding and implementing each client’s business goals; I’m here to serve as an extension of their team. From entity formation and structuring, to employment issues, to succession planning and future transitions, I collaborate with my clients to find the best path forward. Legal doesn’t need to be the department of “no,” but rather, a process of collaboration and helpful alternatives that ultimately increase the value of the business.
Outside the office, my focus is on my family—primarily my two young daughters. We love being outdoors and getting away from the city to camp (in an RV vs. tent, an important distinction!) or to explore northern Minnesota’s snowmobiling trails as often as we can. My husband and I also enjoy golfing and try to squeeze in a few rounds whenever possible.
I represent businesses of all types, including nonprofit organizations, on matters of corporate governance, buy-sell transactions, partnership agreements, contract review, drafting and negotiation, and mergers and acquisitions. I frequently act as outside General Counsel for business owners and have extensive experience working with nonprofit leadership, boards, foundations, and endowment funds on organizational structuring and obtaining/maintaining tax- exempt status.

I counsel businesses and nonprofits on employment law matters, including complex FLSA, ADA, and FMLA matters. I also have experience conducting internal employment investigations relating to alleged wrongful actions in the workplace, including investigations conducted as part of due diligence in ongoing transactional matters.
