My approach is grounded in responsiveness, clear communication, and a deep understanding of how ever-changing legal issues impact day-to-day operations. Changes in employment law affect employers of all sizes; I help my clients proactively navigate these changes – balancing compliance requirements with practical business considerations. Whether advising on workplace policies, compliance strategies, or employee relations, my goal is to serve as a trusted partner and resource for employers by providing clear, actionable guidance that allows for informed and effective decision making.
My interest in labor and employment law grew out of my love of sports. I am fascinated by the complex relationships between the organizations, teams, and employees—from players and unions to front-office staff. That same dynamic translates directly to the workplace, where collaboration, communication, and clear policies are critical to building strong teams and successful businesses. I bring that same team-oriented mindset to my practice, working alongside clients to anticipate challenges, create strategies, and help their organizations perform at their best.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and have visited nearly 30 countries. As a lifelong sports fan, I hold season tickets to the Timberwolves and spend many weekends watching football with friends and family. During law school, I also interned at the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee, where I was able to connect my love of sports with intellectual property work—researching trademarks and helping ensure that certain creations could make their way onto collectors’ shelves.
I advise employers on all aspects of labor and employment law, helping them navigate evolving workplace requirements and implement practical, compliant policies. With a background in journalism, I bring a strong foundation in writing, research, and communication to every matter – helping clients stay ahead of legislative changes and approach legal challenges with clarity and strategy.
My practice includes drafting and updating employee handbooks, drug and alcohol policies, and advising on day-to-day employment issues such as discipline, terminations, and regulatory compliance. I stay current on Minnesota’s rapidly changing employment laws—particularly developments in paid family and medical leave and sick and safe time—and guide clients through these changes with clarity and a focus on business needs.
