My Approach
I remember the day distinctly: I was a teenager, working the counter at a fast food restaurant, and my manager pulled me aside to tell me she thought I should try moving into management. I told her I wasn’t sure; I was young, I didn’t have a lot of experience – all of which she countered with four words. “I believe in you.” It was as simple as that. She saw something in me, and gave me a chance. Every single day, I try to bring that outlook to my interactions, and to take every opportunity to help others be successful in their roles, and by extension, help the business succeed.
I joined Winthrop & Weinstine following fifteen years with a regional bank, where I held just about every role imaginable, from front-line, to operations, technology, strategy, sales, and eventually leading product management and national expansion efforts. Each step along the way taught me something new about working as a team, serving clients, as well as how intertwined and reliant on each other are different departments within a larger organization. As Chief Operating Officer at Winthrop, my role is to be the glue connecting all those moving pieces, and help the firm move forward strategically to continually find new ways to serve our clients and their businesses.
I earned my B.A. in Management from the University of Minnesota Crookston, and am a Certified Treasury Professional. I am also passionate about giving back to my community, and serve on the Boards of Junior Achievement of the North, Neighborworks Home Partners of St. Paul, and as a Sales Mentor for the University of Minnesota Center for Sales Leadership and Education.
Outside of the office, I spend most of my time chasing around my two young kids, and traveling with our family when we can, especially to San Diego.
