I represent clients in all industries on employment-related matters. My primary focus is providing advice and counsel to my clients on a variety of issues regarding the workplace, including compliance with state and federal employment laws, the investigation and resolution of employee complaints, and the implementation of workforce transition strategies. My expertise also includes reviewing and drafting employee handbooks, leave policies, and employment contracts, such as severance agreements, employment agreements, and restrictive covenants. Additionally, I have experience representing clients in state and federal pre-litigation matters and presenting workplace training sessions to my clients regarding discrimination, harassment, and workplace safety.
My Approach
If I wasn’t a lawyer, I’d likely pursue a career as a therapist. I have a genuine passion for understanding people—their aspirations and motivations. My previous experience in the hospitality industry reinforced this enthusiasm for connecting with others. Even if you’ve never interacted with a lawyer before, I excel at building rapport.
In my employment practice, this personal approach defines my style and guides how I support my clients. My litigation background enhances my ability to navigate legal complexities and tailor solutions that are practical and empathetic. I firmly believe that in employment law, compassion and understanding are essential. It’s about recognizing every client is unique and deserves advice that fits their individual circumstances and goals, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Having recently returned to the Twin Cities after a decade away, I enjoy spending time outside of work exploring my local community, hiking or taking walks around the lakes with my dog, and trying new restaurants. I’m also an avid Packers fan, much to my family’s dismay.
