Experience

Ian Rubenstrunk focuses his practice on Creditors’ Remedies and Bankruptcy Law. Prior to joining the firm, he served for five years as Judicial Clerk to Chief Judge Gregory F. Kishel and Judge William J. Fisher, both of the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Minnesota. He has experience with novel and complex bankruptcy issues including "first day motions," § 363 asset sales, trustee's standing for various litigation matters, contested Ch. 11 plan confirmation, substantive consolidation, and mere conduit defenses, as well as other issues in litigation arising from a multi-billion dollar Ponzi scheme. He also served as a student attorney for the Office of the United States Trustee in the Northern District of Illinois.

While in law school Ian served as an Articles Editor and Staff Editor for the John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law. He currently serves as a coach to the Edina High School Mock Trial team.
