Winthrop & Weinstine Continues to Grow With the Hiring of Five New Associates
MINNEAPOLIS – November 12, 2015 –  Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is pleased to announce it has added five new associates to the firm.   

Brett Siglin is an associate in the Real Estate group, and has experience representing developers, lenders, investors, syndicators, real estate investment trusts and others in a variety of real estate and tax credit transactions.  He negotiates and drafts terms of operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, management agreements, development agreements, financing documents, guarantees, leases and other contracts in multi-party transactions. He also coordinates extensive due diligence reviews of title, survey, leases, permits, zoning, corporate documents, financial statements and other real estate transactional documents, and handles a variety of asset management matters, disputes and negotiations with HUD regarding troubled assets.  He has also worked with clients to institute procedures for maintaining compliance with HUD policies and regulatory requirements.  

In addition, Brett represents investors in connection with the acquisition, development and management of multifamily and commercial real estate projects. He has handled asset management matters, pre-litigation legal disputes and negotiations, as well as advised large financial institutions regarding strategies to improve the management of asset portfolios.   

Before joining the firm, Brett practiced law in Chicago and Washington, DC, and was an attorney-advisor at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. He earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and his LL.M from Georgetown University Law Center.  

Matthew Callanan is an associate in the Litigation department. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kevin G. Ross of the Minnesota Court of Appeals and to the Honorable Michael J. Melloy of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He earned his J.D., with high distinction (magna cum laude), Order of the Coif, and with highest service honors, from the University of Iowa College of Law.  

Jordan Humphrey is an associate in the Corporate & Transactions group. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a summer associate with Winthrop & Weinstine.  Jordan earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law.  

Neil Mahoney is an associate in the Real Estate department. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a summer associate with Winthrop & Weinstine. He also served as a law clerk for the Minneapolis City Attorney, Civil Division and as a Judicial Intern to the Hon. Robert Small, Hennepin County District Court.  He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School.  

David Pabian is an associate in the Trademark & Brand Management group. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a summer associate with Winthrop & Weinstine. He also served as a Legal Intern for the Executive Office of Immigration Review, and as a Law Clerk to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.  He earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
