Corporate attorney Ryan Schildkraut will serve as a panelist on the topic "Financing Options for Closely Held Businesses (MNvest, Kickstarter and Crowdfunding Generally; Angel Investors: Reg A+; and More)" on October 27 at the 2015 Minnesota Closely Held Business Conference in Minneapolis.
With the recent passage of MNvest, there are increasing options for Minnesota businesses to raise capital. This session will outline and discuss the various funding routes, addressing applicable federal and state laws and practical considerations along the way.
Ryan is a strong advocate for Minnesota
entrepreneurs and small business owners.
After years of working with clients who felt that federal
and state laws impeded their ability to raise money from investors, Ryan
co-authored the MNvest legislation, which legalized securities crowdfunding in
Minnesota. He helped organize a group of politicians, business leaders,
and other supporters in a grassroots campaign to educate Minnesotans on
crowdfunding, and MNvest was signed into law on June 15, 2015.
