Martha Engel Named “Young Engineer of the Year” by American Society of Mechanical Engineers
MINNEAPOLIS – January 23, 2015 –Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is pleased to announce that attorney Martha Engel has been selected as the 2014 “Young Engineer of the Year” by the Minnesota Federation of Engineering, Science and Technology Societies. Each year, only one “Young Engineer of the Year” is selected, based on educational and collegiate achievements, professional and technical society activities, civil and humanitarian activities, professional experience, and achievements within the field of engineering.

As an associate patent attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group, Martha actively counsels clients on the procurement, maintenance, and enforcement of intellectual property rights. She is responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications on a variety of technologies, including mechanical and manufacturing devices, materials, medical devices, sporting goods, packaging, electronics, and software.
In her free time, Martha volunteers with numerous boards and committees, including the local American Society of Mechanical Engineers section, where she enjoys engaging other engineers and learning about emerging technologies in the industry.
