Winthrop & Weinstine Promotes Christine Zimmer to Senior Director of Government Relations
MINNEAPOLIS, December 08, 2014 — Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., announces that Christine Zimmer has been promoted to Senior Director of Government Relations, where she will continue to provide strategic political analysis and lobbying expertise for clients, while building coalitions and partnerships imperative to successful advocacy for the firm’s public policy clients.
Zimmer joined Winthrop & Weinstine's government relations team in 2003, and has been an active contributor to many issues affecting Minnesota government over the years, including transportation, gaming, insurance, health care, long-term care, energy, and traffic safety reform.
Zimmer has more than 25 years of experience in the government relations and political field. Prior to joining Winthrop & Weinstine, she was the Government Affairs Manager at Minnesota Life Insurance Company, where she worked on significant insurance legislation and developed important relationships with the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Capital City Partnership, and the Insurance Federation of Minnesota. She also has served as a Senior Administrative Assistant for the House and Senate Republican Caucus Campaign Committees, and as the Legislative Assistant for the House Republican Caucus Leadership office. At the federal level, she served as Minnesota Office Director for U.S. Congressman Jim Ramstad, and acted as lead on environment and women’s issues.
