MINNEAPOLIS – September 2, 2014 –Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is the recipient of Minnesota Business magazine’s Leaders in Health Care Award in the “Dream Team: Law Firm” category, which recognizes excellence in legal services provided to the health care industry in Minnesota. The Leaders in Health Care Awards were created to celebrate individuals and organizations leading the charge in Minnesota’s world-class health care industry.

Winthrop & Weinstine’s health law practice group is led by co-chairs David Aafedt and Christianna Finnern, both of whom are highly regarded for their skills by their clients and industry experts.

“We are proud of David, Christianna and all of the attorneys in our health law practice for their leadership in the health care industry,” said Winthrop & Weinstine President Scott Dongoske. “The practice group’s tenacity, spirit of collaboration and deep relationships in government and industry make them the perfect team for Winthrop & Weinstine’s health care clients.”

Winthrop & Weinstine’s Health Care Practice Group represents health care organizations of all types and sizes – from sole practitioner start-ups to multi-location specialty practice groups with 500+ employees. Its clients include a wide range of providers, including hospitals and clinics, physician groups, nursing homes, chemical dependency and behavioral health treatment facilities, home health care organizations and systems, dentists, specialists, and pharmacists, as well as other health professionals and trade associations.

The team also represents technology firms, medical device manufacturers, and pharmaceutical and life sciences companies on general business, regulatory compliance and liability issues, as well as all aspects of intellectual property. In addition, the firm has extensive experience representing dentists, nurses, specialists and other licensed professionals before Minnesota’s licensing boards and regulatory agencies, as well as defending third-party payor audits and litigating complex issues.

Winthrop & Weinstine will be profiled in the November 2014 issue of Minnesota Business. In addition, an awards gala celebrating the leaders in Minnesota health care will be held on October 29, 2014, in the Twin Cities.
