MINNEAPOLIS – February 7, 2014 -- Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is pleased to announce that Christianna L. Finnern has been chosen as a member of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 2014 “40 Under 40,” a list of the Twin Cities' successful young business and community leaders. This year, the publication received 450 nominations, and chose those 40 leaders under the age of 40 who best balance notable professional accomplishments with deep community involvement.
Christianna Finnern is a shareholder at Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., practicing in the firm's health care, business litigation and insurance regulatory groups. Christianna has a commercial litigation background that makes her uniquely suited to navigating the complex regulatory world of health care and insurance. Christianna has deep experience litigating business disputes, including claims involving breach of contract, common law fraud, consumer fraud, deceptive trade practices, false statement in advertisement, trade secret, non-compete, and defamation.
Christianna is an active leader at the firm and in the community. She participates in the firm’s Recruiting and Marketing Committees, and is also involved as a committee member for the Women's Health Leadership Trust. She serves on the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for Faith’s Lodge, a charitable organization that operates a retreat where families coping with the death or serious illness of a child can go to find peace and build hope for the future. Christianna is also a member of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, which promotes gender equality through various programs, including its high-profile MN Girls Are Not For Sale campaign, to end the sex trafficking of Minnesota girls.
Christianna makes it a priority to mentor and provide opportunities for students and others considering legal careers. Christianna’s passion for the law and promoting women professionals makes her a great mentor for young attorneys, and she currently mentors two women through the firm’s mentorship program.
She is a graduate of University of Iowa College of Law and Wartburg College, summa cum laude. She currently resides in Edina with her husband and two children.
