I really like the size of the law firm; it's big enough to have some truly qualified attorneys in the areas I need, but not so large to have a high degree of infrastructure that adds costs without value.

Winthrop & Weinstine Attorneys Help Client Settle Lawsuit

Minneapolis, MN—Winthrop & Weinstine litigators Jeffrey R.  Ansel and David A. Davenport produced a great result for client Global Partners United (GPU), who sued Bixby Energy Systems, claiming Bixby was insolvent, had engaged in malfeasance and breach of contract, and had misrepresented the status of its technology deliverables to GPU. GPU sought an emergency appointment of a receiver to take control of and operate Bixby. To settle the lawsuit and demands of GPU, Bixby's founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board, along with Bixby's corporate counsel, secretary to the Board of Directors, and two other board members resigned. An interim management company was appointed to run the day-to-day operations of Bixby, and it will report to an interim board of directors for Bixby. Global Partners has an exclusive contract to sell Bixby's coal-gasification technology to China, which is potentially a billion dollar industry and seeks to revolutionize how energy is delivered throughout the People's Republic of China and seven other Asian countries.

Dave was quoted in multiple local publications regarding the lawsuit (to read the articles, see the below citations).
