Minneapolis, MN – May 19, 2011.
Winthrop & Weinstine’s fifth annual Women Client Networking Event was once again a huge success with more than 150 women attending from across Minnesota. The “Recipes for Success” themed event, held on May 17th, focused on recognizing the connections between professional businesswomen, including clients and friends of the firm, attorneys, management and staff.
Held at the Mill City Museum in downtown Minneapolis, attendees were treated to tours of the building, which was once the world’s largest flour mill, as well as unique networking opportunities.
In the welcome address, shareholder Amy DuMond
shared her connection to the historic site: her great-great grandfather, E.H. Grundman, was one of 18 men who perished in the Washburn “A” Mill explosion of 1878. “It’s important to celebrate professional women for their successes in all industries. We also want our Winthrop & Weinstine clients and professional colleagues to know women attorneys have a strong presence at the firm and thank them for their continuing business and support,” Amy said.
In addition to the event, the firm edited a cookbook, Recipes for Success, that included contributions from clients, firm employees and attorneys. Proceeds from the cookbook will be donated to The Greater Lake Country Food Bank
(www.theglcfb.org), and a donation and food drive was coordinated through the firm’s Community Service Committee.
