Christopher A. Camardello Named Winner of 2009 Author's Award

MINNEAPOLIS, MN December 11, 2009—Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., is proud to announce that Creditors’ Remedies attorney  Christopher A. Camardello has been awarded the 2009 Elmer H. Wiblishauser Author’s Award. The award is given to the individual member judged to have contributed the best article to Bench & Bar in the preceding fiscal year.

The award is for Chris’s October 2008 article in Bench & Bar, “Understanding Foreclosures on Real Property,” which gives an overview on foreclosures and real-property issues.

Chris was presented the award by the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) Assembly meeting on Friday, December 11, 2009.

Chris Camardello is a shareholder at Winthrop & Weinstine, with proven expertise in creditors' remedies and bankruptcy law. He represents secured and unsecured creditors in the key areas of banking litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosures, liquidations and Article 9 transactions. Chris is also a frequent contributor to Black’s Law Dictionary.

About the Wiblishauser Author’s Award
The Wiblishauser Author’s Award is selected annually by the MSBA Publications Committee to the individual member judged to have contributed the best article to Bench & Bar in the preceding fiscal year.

The award is named after the late Elmer Wiblishauser, a member of the Publications Committee for over 30 years and a five-term treasurer of the MSBA. In the late 1950s, Mr. Wiblishauser spearheaded the effort to establish the Author’s Award.

The criteria used in judging articles for the award include: quality of writing, timeliness of the subject matter, breadth of interest to lawyers across the profession, and success in engaging readers’ interest.

In the course of a year, 40 or more articles from member contributors are published in Bench & Bar, so competition for the award is keen. Often the award has gone to the author or coauthors of a single feature article. Recipients have included both new and senior lawyers, academics, sole practitioners, and partners in large firms.
