In lieu of paper holiday cards, the Minneapolis law firm of Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., has given donations to three local charities in addition to “going green” with a holiday e-card.
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota, The Emily Program and Sew Much Comfort received donations from Winthrop & Weinstine, whose “going green” effort has given the firm an opportunity to use the money not spent on paper cards to give to charity.
“The decision was clear,” says firm president Scott J. Dongoske. “With the economy the way it is, we felt we ought to give the money to where it's needed.”
The three charities were selected by the firm's community service committee.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota is dedicated to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The Emily Program, formerly known as the Anna Westin House, is dedicated to preventing and treating eating disorders.
Sew Much Comfort is dedicated to providing custom-made adaptive clothing to injured service members.
This is the first year Winthrop & Weinstine has sent an e-card for the holiday season.
